Quincy Wang is a Website Developer and Digital Engagement Specialist in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University(SFU). She earned her master’s degree in Educational Technology and Instructional Design from SFU. She is a research collaborator on the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funded project Raising Nisga’a Language, Sovereignty, and Land-Based Education Through Traditional Carving Knowledge (2020–2022), in which she contributes to the implementation of VR technology in Indigenous education. In 2020, she was awarded the SFU Community Engagement Initiative (CEI) grant for an AR project on Bridging Science Education at Science World During the COVID Pandemic. This project brings together researchers, staff, students, and the community to sustain children’s sense of scientific curiosity and wonder in learning about science. Quincy coached and mentored SFU students to develop an AR immersive learning platform for the Science World exhibits. This project initiates dialogue among British Columbia (BC)’s educational stakeholders to catalyze action for the creation of research-informed curriculum in a post COVID-19 era. Interested in utilizing web technology for knowledge co-creation through unique and emerging digital formats, she is pursuing a PhD in Educational Technology.
