Dr. Kat Schrier is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Games & Emerging Media program at Marist College. Dr. Schrier is also Founder/CEO of PlatyPlay, LLC, a company that specializes in designing and researching games for learning, empathy, civics, and inclusion. She has two decades of experience designing and producing websites, apps, and games, and has previously worked at Scholastic, Nickelodeon, and BrainPOP. She has written and/or edited over 100 publications, including We the Gamers: How Games Teach Ethics and Civics (Oxford University Press, 2021). Find out more at
